गणपति प्रथम पूज्य हैं — हर शुभ कार्य, गृह-प्रवेश, विवाह और पूजा का आरम्भ उनके आह्वान से होता है। नीचे दैनिक पूजन और गणेश चतुर्थी, दोनों के लिए उपयुक्त विधि दी गई है; चतुर्थी पर मूर्ति-स्थापना और दस दिन का पूजन जुड़ जाता है, शेष क्रम वही रहता है।Ganapati is worshipped first — every auspicious act, house-warming, wedding and ritual begins by invoking him. The method below serves both daily worship and Ganesh Chaturthi; on Chaturthi the installation of the image and the ten-day observance are added, while the rest of the order stays the same.
॥ पूजा सामग्री ॥॥ Materials ॥
स्थापना के लिए मिट्टी या इको-फ्रेंडली गणेश प्रतिमा, लकड़ी की चौकी, लाल या पीला वस्त्र, कलश।
For the installation: a clay or eco-friendly image, a wooden seat (chauki), red or yellow cloth, a kalash.
पूजन सामग्री गंगाजल, पंचामृत (दूध, दही, घी, शहद, शक्कर), रोली, चंदन, कुमकुम, अक्षत, जनेऊ, मौली।
Puja materials: Ganga water, panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar), roli, sandal paste, kumkum, whole rice, the sacred thread, mauli.
प्रिय वस्तुएँ 21 दूर्वा (दूब घास), शमी पत्र, लाल गुड़हल अथवा गेंदे के ताजे फूल।
His favourites: 21 blades of durva grass, shami leaves, fresh red hibiscus or marigold.
भोग मोदक, बेसन या बूंदी के लड्डू, ऋतु फल (केला), पंचमेवा।
Offerings: modak, besan or boondi laddu, seasonal fruit (banana), five dry fruits.
आरती सामग्री शुद्ध घी का दीपक, कपूर, अगरबत्ती अथवा धूप।
For the aarti: a lamp of pure ghee, camphor, incense sticks or dhoop.
॥ पूजा विधि — चरण-दर-चरण ॥॥ Method — step by step ॥
स्नान और शुद्धि प्रातःकाल स्नान कर स्वच्छ वस्त्र — लाल या पीले — धारण करें।
Bathe at dawn and put on clean clothes, red or yellow.
स्थान चयन पूजा घर अथवा ईशान कोण (उत्तर-पूर्व) को साफ कर चौकी पर पीला या लाल कपड़ा बिछाएँ।
Clean the shrine or the north-east corner and spread yellow or red cloth on the seat.
प्रतिमा स्थापना गणेश जी की प्रतिमा चौकी पर स्थापित करें और विधिवत उनका आह्वान करें।
Install the image on the seat and invoke him with due form.
संकल्प हाथ में जल, अक्षत और पुष्प लेकर पूजा का संकल्प लें।
Taking water, rice and a flower in your hand, state the intention of the puja.
षोडशोपचार पूजन प्रतिमा को जल व पंचामृत से स्नान कराएँ; वस्त्र, जनेऊ, चंदन, रोली और अक्षत अर्पित करें।
Bathe the image with water and panchamrit; offer cloth, the sacred thread, sandal, roli and rice.
दूर्वा एवं पुष्प 21 दूर्वा, शमी पत्र और लाल फूल अर्पित करें — दूर्वा गणपति को सर्वाधिक प्रिय है।
Offer 21 blades of durva, shami leaves and red flowers — durva is dearest to Ganapati.
मंत्र जाप “ॐ गं गणपतये नमः” अथवा गणेश गायत्री मंत्र का कम से कम 21 या 108 बार जाप करें।
Repeat “Om gam Ganapataye namah” or the Ganesh Gayatri at least 21 or 108 times.
भोग, चालीसा एवं आरती मोदक या लड्डू का भोग लगाएँ; गणेश चालीसा का पाठ करें और अंत में आरती उतारकर प्रसाद बाँटें।
Offer modak or laddu; recite the Ganesh Chalisa, then perform the aarti and distribute the prasad.
॥ ध्यान मंत्र ॥॥ Meditation mantra ॥
गजाननं भूतगणादि सेवितं, कपित्थजम्बूफलसारभक्षितम्। उमासुतं शोकविनाशकारणं, नमामि विघ्नेश्वरपादपङ्कजम्॥
Gajananam bhutaganadi sevitam, kapittha-jambu-phala-sara-bhakshitam. Umasutam shoka-vinasha-karanam, namami Vighneshwara-pada-pankajam.
गजमुख, भूतगणों से सेवित, कैथ और जामुन के फलों का सार ग्रहण करने वाले, उमा के पुत्र और शोक के नाशक — उन विघ्नेश्वर के चरण-कमलों को मैं नमन करता हूँ।
Elephant-faced, served by the hosts of beings, who savours the essence of kapittha and jambu fruit, son of Uma and destroyer of grief — I bow to the lotus feet of the lord of obstacles.
