A garland of baijanti at his throat, he plays the sweet flute; rings glint at his ears — he is Nandlal, the joy of Nanda. His limbs are dark and luminous as the sky, and Radhika shines at his side; Banmali stands among the vines — locks like bees, a mark of musk, a gleam like the moon — such is the lovely form of Shyama’s beloved.
