Payoji Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo

Mira’s most sung poem — devotion as a wealth that is never spent, cannot be stolen, and grows day by day.

Payoji maine Ram ratan dhan payo. Vastu amolak di mere satguru, kirpa kar apnayo.

I have found the jewel-treasure of Ram’s name; my true guru graciously gave me this priceless thing and made me his own.

२

Janam-janam ki poonji pai, jag mein sabhi khovayo.

I gained the savings of many lives and let the world’s goods go; this wealth is not spent by spending, no thief can take it, and each day it grows.

३

Sat ki naav khevatiya satguru, bhavsagar tar aayo. Mira ke prabhu Giridhar nagar, harakh-harakh jas gayo.

With truth as the boat and the guru as boatman I have crossed the ocean of being. Mira’s Lord is the graceful mountain-lifter, whose glory she sings in joy.

४

Mira ke prabhu Giridhar nagar, charan kamal chit layo. Sab jag chhod Hari ki sharan gahyo, amar amolak payo.

Mira fixed her heart on the mountain-lifter’s lotus feet; leaving all the world she took Hari’s refuge, and found the deathless, priceless treasure.
