पुराणों के अनुसार भगवान शिव ने भी सभी सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त करने के लिए देवी सिद्धिदात्री की उपासना की थी। देवी की कृपा से ही शिव जी को अणिमा, महिमा, गरिमा आदि आठों सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त हुईं।According to the Puranas, even Lord Shiva worshipped the goddess Siddhidatri to obtain all the siddhis. It was by her grace that Shiva attained all eight siddhis — anima, mahima, garima and the rest.
इन्हीं की कृपा से भगवान शिव का आधा शरीर देवी का हो गया, जिस कारण वे अर्धनारीश्वर कहलाए। नवरात्रि के नौवें दिन (महानवमी) सिद्धिदात्री माता की पूजा की जाती है, जो साधकों को समस्त सांसारिक और आध्यात्मिक सिद्धियाँ प्रदान करने वाली मानी जाती हैं।By her grace, half of Shiva’s own body became the goddess’s, and so he came to be called Ardhanarishvara. She is worshipped on the ninth day of Navratri (Mahanavami), and is held to grant her devotees every worldly and spiritual accomplishment.
कब और कैसे करेंWhen and how it is observed
नवरात्रि के नौवें दिन माँ के इसी स्वरूप की पूजा होती है। कथा का पाठ घटस्थापना के बाद, ध्यान मंत्र और पूजन के साथ किया जाता है। भोग में तिल अथवा हलवा-पूरी-चना अर्पित करने की परंपरा है। नवमी के हवन और व्रत-पारण के साथ नवरात्रि का समापन होता है। भोग और क्रम क्षेत्र तथा परिवार-परंपरा के अनुसार भिन्न होते हैं।This form is worshipped on the ninth day of Navratri. The story is read after the Ghatasthapana, together with the dhyana mantra and the puja. The customary offering is sesame, or halwa with puri and gram. Navratri closes with the Navami havan and the breaking of the fast. Offerings and order vary by region and family custom.
